Raeisha.pngRaeisha Williams: My very existence as a black woman was shaped by the protective and loving arms of my Grandmother Adelia Nevils, my Mother Rosemary Nevils-Williams, my Auntie Paula Munson, and the many community mothers and fathers that were in my life.

"I am Raeisha Williams, a friend, sister, auntie, daughter, community advocate, gardener, leader, and change-maker. Many of you know me as the latter. What you may not know is that I am a former Ward 2 Coordinator for the Mayor’s Office of Washington, DC., that I graduated from Howard University with a B.A. in Mass Communications, that I worked in television for the first half of my professional career, and that I have a strong background in nonprofits.

After completing my degree at Howard University, I had successful careers as a communications specialist with television networks including BET, TV One, and CNN. I worked as a publicist, marketing consultant, and community coordinator for nonprofits such as The ARC, DC Promise Neighborhood, and Metropolitan Regional Arts Council."
