Jill Stein to Participate in NOC Community Forum on Black America
On Tuesday, August 16, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein will participate in a community conversation hosted by Neighborhoods Organizing for Change at the historic Capri Theater.
The NOC forum will be geared towards discussing issues impacting black communities across the country and in Minnesota - where the poverty rate is 6 times higher for black families than their white counterparts.
"With the underrepresentation of candidates of color in this presidential race - with the exception of Jill Stein's running mate Ajamu Baraka - and the economic, social, and environmental disparities facing black Minnesotans and Americans across the country we, as Greens, wholeheartedly welcome this discussion on these important issues that NOC continues to highlight," said Brandon Long, Chair of the Green Party of Minnesota.
Advance tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the office of Neighborhoods Organizing for Change, 1101 W Broadway, on Monday, August 15 at 5 pm. Tickets are free. Livestreaming satellite locations will be available for those who are not able to attend in person.
Doors for the forum will open at 5 pm on Tuesday, August 16. Media RSVPs are requested by Monday, August 15 at 5 pm. Press can RSVP for the event by contacting [email protected] and can contact [email protected] for other inquiries.
