Reparations: What and Why

The 5th CD Green Party invites everyone to attend a talk and discussion on Reparations by Trahern Crews of St. Paul. Crews is a member of the 4th CD Green Party, the Green Party of Minnesota Coordinating Committee and co-chair of the Green Party of the US Working Group on Reparations, as well as a member of Black St. Paul. He has given numerous presentations about reparations for slavery. The idea of reparations is to compensate people of African-American descent whose ancestors were enslaved in the United States and upon whose unpaid labor the US economy was built. Crews will explain the concept, answer questions and lead discussion.

The meeting agenda also includes electing members to the steering committee and one member to represent the 5th CD on the GPMN Coordinating Committee, and an update on the reorganization process now under way.

Snacks and coffee will be provided.

Please RSVP your attendance and bring friends!
